Academic Outreach

We aim to support you through your academic and professional journey at Hatfield.

We know how difficult it can be to juggle multiple commitments at the same time as fellow Postgrads. Our goal is to ensure you feel supported and enriched during your time in college.

We offer support for your academic development and employability through workshops, networking events, and research opportunities.

Our typical academic schedule of events includes one symposium per term, traditionally known as a ‘Research Roulette’, where postgraduates can present their research to each other in a semi-formal setting. Sometimes we host these collaboratively with other colleges.

We have also hosted professional development ‘Career Talks’ and panels in the past.

Jointly with the Hatfield Trust, the MCR supports academic activities through the MCR Research Awards.
